Our Mission

To enrich the arts, expand opportunities, preserve our natural resources and encourage advocacy for the common good.

Founder

Sonja Cobb

Sonja Anderson Cobb was born in Gadsden, Alabama and studied Art at Sophie Newcomb College and graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Alabama.  She worked as fashion illustrator in Atlanta and then in advertising in Birmingham.  An accomplished artist, Sonja enjoyed painting, nature, and travelling, spending much time on Mt. Desert Island in Maine.  An avid believer of protecting our natural resources and supporting the arts, she served on the board of directors of the Alabama School of Fine Arts and the Cahaba River Society.  Sonja’s strong faith and creative and compassionate spirit led her to learn, give and care for the less fortunate.  She established the foundation in 2002 and was always grateful for the opportunity to support the arts, education and environmental programs in Alabama and Maine.
